Procedural Stages

Injection of patent blue dye or technetium-labeled sulfur colloid.
Tracking lymphatic pathways to identify hot/blue nodes.
Excision of sentinel nodes for immediate frozen section analysis.
Sparing axillary dissection if sentinel nodes are negative.
